Welcome to Coomera District

The Gold Coast’s police districts were recently re-shuffled and new boundaries drawn to better police the area now and into the future. A new district of Coomera was created the headquarters of which are situated on De Barnett Street in Coomera in a new $10-million complex that opened in November 2009.

The new Coomera District, oversees seven stations, namely Coomera, Nerang, Mudgeeraba, North Tamborine, Canungra, Beaudesert and Rathdowney.
Coomera is the fastest growing region on the Gold Coast, and the Coomera Police District was established to address rapid population growth in the area which is forecast to continue over the next 15 years.

The district covers a broad geographical range; from high-density residential areas to rural communities as well as the Gold Coast’s theme park area, which is a major tourist destination and attracts hundreds of thousands of people every year.

Conversely, the Neighbourhood Watch groups in the district range from small country groups that cover several hundred acres, but just a handful of homes, to residential areas of 2,000 homes or more, many of which have grown - and continue to grow - by absorbing new developments that are constructed around them.

From the glitz of Movie World to the quiet idyll of Mount Tamborine, the Coomera District is as diverse as its warm and friendly people.
