The Redcliffe Police District comprises of Redcliffe City and Deception Bay Divisions, both of which form part of the Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Redcliffe was site of European First Settlement in Queensland, a fact the local community is very proud of and celebrates annually staging the “First Settlement Festival”. Redcliffe has a population of 52,000 with only limited opportunity for growth as there is no more land available for development. As a result, the focus has changed to high rise unit development in recent years.

Deception Bay was once pastoral land but has become a growth centre for housing and some commercial development. The current population sits at slightly over 30,000 however the division will expand significantly in the next ten years through the 300 hectare residential, commercial and light industrial North Harbour development south of the Caboolture River and east of the Bruce Highway.

The bayside lifestyle has also proved attractive to new Australians with a growing Pacific Islander population add to the ethnic and cultural diversity of the area. The District’s population has already exceeded the population projections for 2006 and 2011 and while the proportion of young people is above the state average, the aged population is also increasing.

There are four Neighbourhood watches in Redcliffe, two at Woody Point, one at Clontarf and one at Newport Waters. There is one Neighbourhood watch at Burpengary in the Deception Bay area.
